PRIVACY POLICY

We take data protection seriously

Protecting your privacy when processing personal data is an important concern for us. When you visit our website, our web servers automatically
store the IP address of your Internet Service Provider, the website from which you access our website, the pages you visit on our website, as well as the date and duration of your visit. This information is technically required for the transmission of the website and for secure server operation. No personalised evaluation of this data takes place.

If you send us data via the contact form, this data will be stored on our servers as part of data backup procedures. Your data will be used exclusively for the purpose of processing your enquiry. Your data will be treated strictly confidentially and will not be disclosed to third parties.

Personal Data
Personal data refers to data relating to your person. This includes your name, your address and your email address. You are not required to disclose any personal data in order to visit our website. In some cases, however, we require your name, address and further information in order to provide the requested service.

The same applies if, at your request, we provide you with information material or respond to your enquiries. In such cases, we will always inform you accordingly. We only store the data that you provide to us automatically or voluntarily.

When you use one of our services, we generally collect only the data necessary to provide that service. In some cases, we may request additional information, which is always voluntary. Whenever we process personal data, we do so in order to provide our services or to pursue our legitimate commercial interests.

Automatically Stored Data

Server Log Files

The provider of the website automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us.
These include:

  • date and time of the request
  • name of the requested file
  • website from which the file was requested
  • access status (file transferred, file not found, etc.)
  • browser type and operating system used
  • full IP address of the requesting device
  • amount of data transferred

This data is not merged with other data sources. Processing is carried out in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on our legitimate interest in improving the stability and functionality of our website.

For reasons of technical security, in particular to defend against attacks on our web servers, this data is stored temporarily. It is not possible for us to draw conclusions about individual persons based on this data. After a maximum of seven days, the data is anonymised by shortening the IP address at domain level, so that it is no longer possible to establish a link to an individual user.

In anonymised form, the data is also processed for statistical purposes. There is no comparison with other data sets or disclosure to third parties, even in extracts. Only within the scope of our server statistics, which we publish every two years in our activity report, is the number of page views presented.

Cookies

When you visit our website, information may be stored on your computer in the form of cookies. Cookies are small files that are transmitted from an
internet server to your browser and stored on your hard drive. Only the internet protocol address is stored; no personal data is stored.

The information stored in cookies enables us to recognise you automatically on your next visit, making it easier for you to use our website. The legal basis for the use of cookies is our legitimate interest pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).

You may also visit our website without accepting cookies. If you do not want your computer to be recognised during your next visit, you can refuse cookies by changing your browser settings accordingly. Please refer to your browser’s user manual for details. Please note that refusing cookies may
restrict the functionality of certain areas of our website.

Newsletter

We use the so-called double opt-in procedure for sending newsletters. This means that we will only send you a newsletter by email once you have explicitly confirmed that you wish to receive it. You will then receive a notification email asking you to confirm your subscription by clicking a link contained in that email.

When you register for the newsletter, we store your IP address and the date of registration. This storage serves solely as proof in the event that a third party misuses your email address to register you for the newsletter without your knowledge or authorisation.

If you no longer wish to receive newsletters from us, you may withdraw your consent at any time without incurring any costs other than the transmission costs according to basic tariffs.

Security

We have implemented technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal data against loss, destruction, manipulation and unauthorised access. All our employees and service providers are obliged to comply with applicable data protection laws.

Whenever personal data is collected and processed, it is encrypted before transmission. This ensures that your data cannot be misused by third parties. Our security measures are subject to continuous improvement, and our privacy policies are regularly updated. Please ensure that you always refer to the most current version.

Rights of Data Subjects

You have the right at any time to request information about your stored data, to request rectification, erasure or restriction of processing, to object to processing, as well as the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint, subject to the conditions of data protection law.

Right of Access

You may request confirmation as to whether and to what extent we process your personal data.

Right to Rectification

If we process personal data that is incomplete or inaccurate, you may request rectification or completion at any time.

Right to Erasure

You may request the erasure of your personal data if it is processed unlawfully or if the processing disproportionately interferes with your legitimate interests. Please note that there may be reasons preventing immediate erasure, for example statutory retention obligations.

Regardless of your right to erasure, we will delete your data immediately and completely unless contractual or statutory retention obligations prevent this.

Right to Restriction of Processing

You may request restriction of processing if:

  • you dispute the accuracy of the data, for the period required to verify its accuracy,
  • the processing is unlawful and you oppose erasure and instead request restriction of use,
  • we no longer require the data for the intended purpose, but you need it to assert or defend legal claims, or
  • you have objected to the processing of the data.

Right to Data Portability

You have the right to request that we provide you with the personal data
concerning you which you have provided to us in a structured, commonly
used and machine-readable format, and that you have the right to transmit
those data to another controller without hindrance from us, provided that:

  • the processing is based on your consent, which may be withdrawn at any time, or on the performance of a contract between you and us, and
  • the processing is carried out by automated means.

Where technically feasible, you have the right to request that we transmit your personal data directly to another controller.

Right to Object

If we process your data on the basis of legitimate interests, you may object to this processing at any time; this also applies to profiling based on these provisions. In such cases, we will no longer process your data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

You may object to the processing of your data for direct marketing purposes at any time without giving reasons.

Right to Lodge a Complaint

If you believe that we are processing your data in violation of German or European data protection law, please contact us so that we can clarify the matter. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority, in particular the data protection authority responsible for your place of residence.

If you wish to exercise any of the above rights, please contact our Data Protection Officer. In case of doubt, we may request additional information to verify your identity.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy if required due to new technologies or legal developments. Please ensure that you always refer to
the most current version. If fundamental changes are made to this privacy policy, we will announce them on our website.
