At the beginning of the 1950s, the American parent company 3M™ founded its own subsidiaries in the world's most important markets. "Minnesota Mining & Manufacturing GmbH" was founded in Düsseldorf in 1951. Since 1972 the company has been successful as 3M Deutschland GmbH, headquartered in Neuss (since 1973). 1994 The European Distribution Center is established in Jüchen near Neuss. The largest and most modern 3M logistics centre in Europe.
Electrical equipment or components interact to produce electrical or electromagnetic effects and interference. Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) refers to the state in which electrical devices do not interfere with each other. To achieve this state, 3M EMC products are used for reflection and absorption of electromagnetic waves. In addition, equipotential bonding can be achieved to protect sensitive electronic components.
3M™ Electrically conductive copper and aluminium foils are used for shielding and earthing purposes to reduce or eliminate interference on electronic devices and components. Aluminium foils are used if the conductivity requirements are not so high. Copper foils, on the other hand, have a very high conductivity. EMC Absorbers are near-field absorbers designed to eliminate noise in the frequency range from a few hundred megahertz to several gigahertz. They attenuate electromagnetic fields and avoid interference emissions, crosstalk and oscillations.
